A Life Without Flowers is emotional yet has this at peace feeling about it. I could not put this down at all. You must read A Life Without Water first. This is Carol's next step in her healing processes after her ex husbands death and husbands too. Carol is on the road and looking for finding some type of common ground with her mother Judith. Judith is a mother that doesn't really give you those warm and fuzzy moments. She has her walls up and is guarded. You are in for a ride when it comes to Carol and Judith's relationship and trying to come to an understanding why they are at odds so much. Once they start having these break throughs you feel this shift of peace start forming as you read. I was brought to tears a few times over and my heart felt so heavy. Carol and Judith have this very healing moment that will just hit you. I love where their relationship ends up. There is so much change coming over Carol as she faces the anniversary of her husbands death. You finally get that peace feeling as she continues her journey saying good by to her daughter, ex husband and in laws, her father and her late husband. The emotions run high yet there is this feeling that there is something big coming Carol's way yet. I'm excited to see where Carol's journey finally lands her in the next book to come. This book and series needs to be read. This is the second book and follow up to A Life Without Water and an amazing and extremely emotional continuation of Carol's journey to forgiveness, self discovery and moving on. I do feel that it is extremely important that you not read this one as a stand alone as you will lose so much of the story and the emotions. If you want a story that will bring out all the feels and make you cry, this is a good place to look. I found tears running down my cheecks several times but I didn't want to quit reading. Marci continues to tell an amazing story about how Carol is finding herself and learning to forgive the people who hurt her the most and she's also starting to understand that things aren't always what they seem on the surface. When you look inside you find a whole new reason for pretty much everything. Marci is such an amazing writer that she has truly made Carol's story come alive for me and has firmly imprinted these characters on my heart and I'm so excited to find out where Carol's journey will ultimately end in the next book.
